Today, approximately 320 people work in our administration, acting on behalf of the technical committee, the environmental and building permit committee, and the municipal executive administration. The important tasks of the Technical Department include both management and technical support in an expanding municipality. Together, we are creating the future of Järfälla – a place for everyone.

The Technical Department is a new department that is part of the community planning administration, which is less than a year old.

We are now looking for a driven Forest Manager for the Park and Nature Unit within the Community Planning Administration.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Your tasks will involve, together with the park and nature team, developing the municipality's forest-related nature and outdoor life values through management and follow-up of maintenance plans within the residential forest. This also includes establishing contracts with forestry companies for the sale of timber and chips. Your tasks will also involve working with municipal ecologists and the agricultural administration to develop the values of cultural landscapes and wildlife management.

You will work on developing the municipality's knowledge of biodiversity in the forest. Furthermore, you will participate in issues related to exploitation and detailed plans and respond to referrals from authorities and other departments. The work involves a lot of collaboration and contacts both within and outside the Community Planning Administration, such as with citizens, authorities, and organizations. Additionally, it includes making orders/purchases and leading and participating in projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a broad scientific/forestry university education with a focus on biology/ecology/nature conservation or have experiences we consider equivalent. It is a requirement that you have good computer skills and a B driver's license.

You have knowledge of nature conservation-adapted urban forestry, red-listed species, and cultural historical environments.

Good knowledge of Swedish and a strong ability and interest in communication are essential. GIS skills are desirable. Work experience in issues and management to maintain biological values in forest environments is an advantage. Experience in working with/leading projects and experience in a politically governed organization is also advantageous. Knowledge of wildlife management and possession of a hunting license (state hunting card, hunter's exam, and weapon license) is a merit.

You have an interest in analyzing and solving problems and are stable and self-sufficient as a person. The work requires you to be able to work in a structured manner and have good judgment with a professional approach.
